Some pictures of our weekend

Here are some pictures of last weekend. After a great afternoon on the beach we had a special goodbye-dinner at home as Vic´s parents would leave the next day back to The Netherlands. We didnt want to spend the night cooking so we ordered at one of the restaurants at the port, a delicious take-away rice-plate with lobster! ( I admit a had a bit of a craving :D) Obviously accompanied with a good Albariño white wine. I think we gave Vic´s parents the proper goodbye the deserved, talking, laughing and untill late listening to music. And also Vic showed off by making some excellent Cuban "mojitos"!

On saturday after a frustrated attempt to hit the beach due to the clouds, we had dinner with our friends Suso and Vero at Pontedeume. There was an open-air jazz festival with bands from Paris, Madrid and London in a very small and cousy square at the old town of Pontedeume. We enjoyed the night, the temperature, being with friends, gintonics and jazz!

Analogue lomo-prints from NY

These prints are from real analogue film Lomo-cameras we brought from New York. We bought them from a street-artist/photographer who was exposing in front of the Guggenheim. We framed them and hanged them in a very special place of our house. We are very happy with the result! We found a vintage frame maker in a very oldy and small shop close to Vic´s work. It was just what we were looking for.
These prints are very special and full of significance to us as a reminder of our trip to NYC.

Last weekend

Here are some photos from our last weekend. It was a weekend of meetings with family and friends. We have been eating at my uncles and enjoying my little cousin Iria. She´s adorable!

We also went to watch Antonio´s football game (The team of Lucia´s boyfriend lost again. We are beginning to think that Vic and I are bad luck)

We have been eating and having dinner at my grandmother's house celebrating the "fiestas" celebrations of my hometown and of course enjoying Koka, my dog, my baby, my love ... who was staying on holiday with my grandparents.

Japanese themed dinner

Friday night we received at our house a visit of our good friends Thais en Wenn. They stayed the night and would be travelling back to the south next day, so we wanted to organize a very special dinner.
We love sushi. Yes. So we planned a sushi night! They never has sushi before so we thought it would be best to organize a Japanese evening. I think they liked it, especially Thais. But Wenn eventually convinced Vic to order pizza after trying the sushi. So I think he was still hungry! Anyway, we had a great time, we enjoyed their "short" visit. We´ll see each other again, very soon!

Summer nights

Last night was one of the most warm nights of the summer, so after an afternoon at the beach, the best way to end the day was by spending it at our terrace. My beloved husband arranged the ambient, setted the candle light, prepared a mojito and together we enjoyed the sky colours turning from intense blue to dark black, full of stars. We listened to some music, talked and laughed...it was great. To bad that a zooming mosquito while we were sleeping turned out to spoiled the following hours, but you know what they say:  Not everything can be perfect!

Sunny afternoon, beach and reading

These few days in Galicia we are enjoying a wonderfull weather. From my point of view this is perhaps the best week we´ve had so far, regarding the weather this summer. Therefore we are almost obligated to enjoy whatever possible to go to the beach, swim in the sea and sunbathe. Another thing not-to-miss is spending a whole afternoon at the beach with a good book. In my case I´ve started (and almost finished) "Si tu me dices ven lo dejo todo, pero dime ven" from newly-spanish writer Albert Espinosa. I began reading the book, a bit influenced by Vic, who was completely blown away by the author´s style, a few weeks ago. For now, I dont seem that impressed for now, having read almost half the book. I don´t really know. It´s kind of okay but it´s not exactly my favourite style of writing. It could also be due to my last book that I´ve read, "Dime quien soy" from also spanish author-bestseller Julia Navarro, which as left a enormous expectation to level with.

Sunday Football

Last sunday we went to see a football game. The team the boyfriend of my best friend Lu,  played against our town´s team.  It was a pre-season tournament. His team lost but we were happy anyway as Lu´s boyfriend scored a goal (and actually could´ve scored more).

Working on my NY`s album

My love and I love to travel. And during our travels we collect all kinds of cards, tickets, receipts, plans, maps...or any other memory of the various places we visited. Also, Vic always writes a kind of travelogue with our feelings, perceptions, opinions...of where we are. I love this about him. Then, when we get home, I reveal our photos and place them in our album with all these different paper cuts and memories. That`s my job, which I enjoy doing.

I don`t conceive saving photos only in digital format, I love to take the album with my hands and watch it again and again.

Today I`m finishing the album of our trip to New York. They were very special days for me that I will always remenber. As always it`s all thanks to him, my love, my life engine.

Seeds bracelet

This beautiful bracelet of seeds I bought in a craft store during the trip we took to the "Beach of cathedrals" a few weeks ago. I had forgotten to wear it but today I have seen it and the truth is that I love how it looks on my wrist.

Tourist in my own town

Again taking advantage of the visit of my in-laws we decided to spend a family-sunday in my hometown. Wines, delicious food by the river and a walk to show some nice spots. These photos are from some small corners of the old town of Betanzos.

A pleasant experience: dinner at "La Sal de Bazán"

A few days ago, Vic and I went out to have dinner with my in-laws in A Coruna. At first we had very clear where we wanted to go but finally we decided to go try a new place I had seen a few days ago while driving by. It's called "La Sal de Bazan" and it´s a lovely restaurant - wine bar in the center of A Coruña. I have to admit that despite the first impression was already good it all became much better after we were served the food. The dishes were served super fast and everything was delicious. In addition I would highlight the great variety of the wine menu.

Above some pictures of my plate and Vic´s dinner, a salad with monkfish, shrimp and cider vinaigrette (spectacular) and "milhoja"with mozzarella, tomato and anchovies.Very nice and very good service. We´ll come back, for sure. More info click here:
