Christmas gifts

Here is one of the gifts that my lovely husband made me this Christmas. "Fuerteventura" of Russian Red has been for me the album of the year and each of their songs remind me of very special and beautiful moments that I never want to forget. The vinyl and accompanying letter are for me the best gift because through them I can transport me to unique moments of this past magical year.

Only one little and insignificant problem though... We don´t have a vinyl disc player... but well, I guess somehow this gift is the push us to buy one. (for a long time we had it in mind)

We dont like to buy a lot in general. Only small things from the heart with special dedications. But...there have been more special gifts but for now I can not show them. (Or I´m not willing to)
I will, when the time comes ;-)

Happy Birthday Mom!!!

Well, today is a special day because it is the birthday of the best mother in the world! So this afternoon we had a small celebration at home with Koka playing like a crazy, tea and pastries! Vic and I had prepared our gift and I'm super happy because I know she loved it! Oh, I love my mother so much... I could not describe my feelings in words. So I can only say right now that the house is empty, the whole world and the noise is gone ... I'm happy and comfortable with myself and grateful for the wonderful mother that I have ...

"1Q84" by Haruki Murakami

A couple of days ago I finished reading "Freedom" by Jonathan Franzen. I must say that although at first it was a little hard to read immediately I was hooked on the lives of it´ss leading characters. I liked it, and totally recommend it. For someone like me, a passionate person of historical novels has served as a respite from contemporary flair. But (there's always a but) I mean that although the book I found it really interesting, the end I did not like at all ... it wasn't truly what I expected ... but I will not say any more because I don't want to spoil a future reading for someone.

Today I share one of my latest acquisitions: "1Q84" by Haruki Murakami. After hearing so much about this trilogy and this mainstream author, I finally decided to buy it and start reading them. I only read a couple of chapters but the truth is from the beginning I was intrigued and it continuasly keeps you wanting to know what happens on the next page. I´ll let you know.

Monday

I'm on vacation this week so even though the weather was not very good when we finished eating we decided to go for a walk to Mount San Pedro in A Coruña. It´s a park with spectacular views of the city and the Atlantic Ocean. It was quite windy so this caused it to be more chilly and the sea had plenty of waves, in fact, these days we are on alert along the coast by waves and swell. But the walk was delicious and we enjoyed a spectacular winter sunset. That if, when we got home we needed a cup of hot chocolate to warm us. I only can say I love the winter.
