Bank holiday

Here is Vic, turned in a real country boy. I'm so proud of him ... because he is working hard to try to learn to keep a house in the countryside, gardening ... it is very important to me because one of our shared dreams is to have our own house in a short time ...

In this photo he is watering the new "garden of fruit trees" that my father and my uncle Chan just planted in the back of our house. The idea of this garden is great so hopefully everything goes well ...

Anti-stress weekend

This past weekend we slept at my parents' house and enjoyed the first weekend of the year that seemed like summer. We took time to enjoy it with the whole family and of course the ever sweet company of our dog, Koka. I finally got some sun, I helped my father with gardening-work and I ate and ate and ate ... (hence the purpose of this week was to keep my weight).

 Sunday breakfast on the terrace

My father and I planted these seeds last week and they have grown surprisingly fast and seems like they are doing very well. They are climbing plants so when they grow a bit we will put some kind of timber that can hold.

While I'm on the hammock in the sun, Koka is always under on the shade.

Tomorrow is Wednesday but really to me is as if Friday because Thursday is a bank holiday and I don´tt work on Friday ... I can´t be happier!

Sunday in the field

Yesterday we spent a great day in the cottage of my parents. Although the spring still is reluctant to appear, we decided to go for a walk before lunch in the company of my sweet dog Koka. The house of my parents is surrounded by nature, forests, meadows, trails ... so it's easy to start walking and meeting places as incredible as the one in the photo. No doubt we enjoyed it.

Today I'm on vacation again because tomorrow is a holiday in the city where I work and I decided to take a day off. I want to finish arranging closets and take a rest...

I wish you all a good start this week!

"Tiempo de Arena" by Inma Chacón

After a highly recommended book title: "The Forgotten Garden" by Kate Morton, now I find myself immersed in reading the spanish/latin "Premio Planeta" finalist 2011, "Time of Sand" by Inma Chacon. This is a very easy-to-read and quick novel, very entertaining, that through the lives of three sisters covers topics such as female Freemasonry, the struggle for equality and tradition opposite modernity in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. I'm going down the middle and my appreciation so far is very good, when it´s finished I will give my final opinion.

Good weekend to all!

Hello May!

After four wonderful days of rest in company of family, tomorrow I have to go back to work ... but this will be a short week so no problem ... I will try to make everything as bearable as possible ... when you get back to the office after several days out it's always a surprise what you can find on your desk...

Today begins the month of May, the month of flowers, but in this corner of Spain the weather seems more like it´s October or November ... we had more than two weeks of constant rain and cold ... where is the spring? Hopefully things will gradually improve because we need to feel the sun, walks, short sleeves, terrace...

I wish you a wonderful month of May, friends!

* Vic took this shot last Saturday at my parents' house. I think it's really beautiful.
