"1Q84" by Haruki Murakami

A couple of days ago I finished reading "Freedom" by Jonathan Franzen. I must say that although at first it was a little hard to read immediately I was hooked on the lives of it´ss leading characters. I liked it, and totally recommend it. For someone like me, a passionate person of historical novels has served as a respite from contemporary flair. But (there's always a but) I mean that although the book I found it really interesting, the end I did not like at all ... it wasn't truly what I expected ... but I will not say any more because I don't want to spoil a future reading for someone.

Today I share one of my latest acquisitions: "1Q84" by Haruki Murakami. After hearing so much about this trilogy and this mainstream author, I finally decided to buy it and start reading them. I only read a couple of chapters but the truth is from the beginning I was intrigued and it continuasly keeps you wanting to know what happens on the next page. I´ll let you know.

Monday

I'm on vacation this week so even though the weather was not very good when we finished eating we decided to go for a walk to Mount San Pedro in A Coruña. It´s a park with spectacular views of the city and the Atlantic Ocean. It was quite windy so this caused it to be more chilly and the sea had plenty of waves, in fact, these days we are on alert along the coast by waves and swell. But the walk was delicious and we enjoyed a spectacular winter sunset. That if, when we got home we needed a cup of hot chocolate to warm us. I only can say I love the winter.

"San Silvestre" in A Coruña

Yesterday, just hours before the end of the year, Victor and friends participated in the race "San Silvestre" of A Coruña. It was a tour within the city of a little less than 8 kilometers. The atmosphere before the race was great with lots of people wearing  all kinds of funny costumes, warming up in the City Hall Square. Victor was having quite a cold but still managed to finish the race in a very reasonable time of 39 minutes. I, how could it be otherwise, am very proud of him.

Family Christmas

On Christmas Day, Vic and I, like every year we went to the house of my mother's uncle. My parents, my grandparents, my uncles, cousins were there... I always enjoy their  company, I'm really grateful for the family I have. Here are a few photos taken before eating, taking advantage of the wonderful sunny day.
