Future...home sweet home

Yesterday afternoon we visited the exciting project that our good friends Vero & Suso are about to begin. They will start soon the reform of this beautiful house called Villa Parga. They have many good ideas so I'm sure the result will be a success and will soon be enjoying the home of their dreams. I am also really excited and ready to meet all your needs. Who knows ... maybe in the near future we can be neighbours! ;-)

Love is just a word until you find someone who gives it definition.

Baby you -and only you- are that someone.

Today was a horrible day. I come home feeling stupid. But I found my husband'sincredible smile and that beautiful bouquet of flowers and all problems were vanished.

Memories of Praha

Here are some little things that Vic and I brought back from our last trip to Prague:

This cardboard graffiti is very special and we found it in a small library of the old part of Prague, where a young local artist exposed his work. We instantly fell in love with it and now occupies a special place in our home.

This traditional Czech storybook was bought in the house where Kafka lived. I still have not read it because I hope to do in the very near future to my babies. It has some beautiful artwork and I hope have a great time with it in the future. In the store we bought too this edition of "The Metamorphosis" by Frank Kafka, of course, could not otherwise be there.

Some beautiful magnets perfect for our fridge always full of photos, drawings, tickets ...

This, of course, is the favorite memory of Vic. Is an original vintage signal numbering of the districts of Prague. We found it in a lovely little antique shop on the street Nerudova. It was there waiting for us and now it is in one of the preferred places of our living room.

And finally this cloth bag (another of our weaknesses) with an image that reminds me of the atmosphere of the city. Since we bought it we have used a lot and will continue to do, sure.

Of course we bought many more things but now it is hard to remember everything, some books of photographs of the city, some T-shirts (one of course has become a favorite of Vic to be home), many gifts for family, friends .. . ah! and a handmade cardboard with the image of one of the bridges of the city which is still in the store where we have framed it, which reminds me that I have to go pick up!

Winter is coming

Finally it seems like the so desired autumn is here to stay! From this morning on, it hasn't stopped raining, the wind is blowing strong, so what´s better than to stay home with a warm blanket on the couch, nice cup of tea and a good book? Things even get better if you can light a fire and enjoy the sound of the rain hitting the windows. Too bad I stared the season with a heavy cold so I´m feeling pretty ill, hard to breathe and throat ache.
My love is here next to me, sitting on the sofa, taking care of me and watching the rain over the grey and wild sea. I know lot of people can`t understand…but I adore winter.

Fundación Luis Seoane

These are some images taken two weeks ago at Fundación Luis Seoane. We visited 2 temporary expositions who were just inaugurated: “Teorema (Interrumpido)” from Bernardí Roig y “Campo de Sombras” from sculpture artist Rui Chafes. We were lucky to enjoy a guided visit which made a hell of a difference and added a whole different perspective to the exhibition. I would recommend a visit but a guided tour is a must (especially for surrealistic sculpture fans) The Fundación will have a new director in 2012 and we are anxious to know what the new exhibitions and proposals will be.

The outdoor pictures are outside the Fundación´s building while we enjoyed a nice autumn walk through the sea wind. Although these last few days we´ve lost the autumn feeling again thanks to ridiculous hot temperatures.  Yep. Nice chilly and wet raincoat/boot walks will still have to wait.

"El cuaderno de Maya" by Isabel Allende

This afternoon after a relaxing siesta on the terrace enjoying the last days of sun and nice weather, I´ve started a new book from writer Isabel Allende called “El cuaderno de Maya”.

I´ve only read a few pages but I already know I like it…this always happens with this writer.
I love her writing style and the way she tells stories. Lot´s of expectations on this book, I hope that I will not be let down.
